As promised, Cashew Cook’s album, “Sweet Home Suite” is out today and ready for download! We’ve been gushing about this album for a little while, so we now take this opportunity to let the music speak for itself. Alan “Cashew” Cook is a rare breed. His prodigious understanding of almost any instrument that he can lay his hot hands on is well known throughout the Cozy Home. His love for life, his insatiable appetite for self-discovery, his utter disdain for complacency and ignorance and his ability to translate these emotions and experiences into thoughtful lyrics, insanely catchy melodies, pitch-perfect harmonies and virtuosic instrumentation leave many with their mouths agape, totally speechless.
“Sweet Home Suite” is the first and only album that Alan has released to date. Released in 2008 and recorded in a cabin deep within the woods of Machias, Maine, this album is jam-packed with all the goodness mentioned above, delivered with enough sincerity that even the most cynical and jaded music snob would be hard pressed to listen and walk away without feeling just a little lighter.

“Romans” is the title of the new External World album, available in the store just in time for back to school! Yeah, we know that most of you don’t go to school. But if you did, this would be perfect listening for a cold, damp autumn morning while on your way to fill your head with knowledge. This album is heavy in a way that is unique to External World; its song structures (and oftentimes its complete disregard for traditional song structure) challenge preconceived notions of creative possibility had by the uninitiated. Lyrical imagery and sonic landscapes seem to reflect the times that we live in: on the brink of disaster, but not without a distant glimmer of hope to keep us afloat. Moody and stark, this album is sure to please all who have enjoyed External World’s previous albums and educate any who have been waiting for the right moment to dip their toe in the boiling waters of the Cozy Home’s more avant-minded pools of creativity.
