This album is heavy in a way that is unique to External World; its song structures (and oftentimes its complete disregard for traditional song structure) challenge preconceived notions of creative possibility had by the uninitiated. Lyrical imagery and sonic landscapes seem to reflect the times that we live in: on the brink of disaster, but not without a distant glimmer of hope to keep us afloat. Moody and stark, this album is sure to please all who have enjoyed External World’s previous albums and educate any who have been waiting for the right moment to dip their toe in the boiling waters of the Cozy Home’s more avant-minded pools of creativity.
